Ana Cristina Gutierrez is a licensed Nutritionist and holds a Master’s degree in Nutrition.
Why did you choose nutrition as a career?
I was always involved personally in eating healthy, practicing sports, and I have refused to be overweight all my life. And then I decided that I loved to teach people how to eat healthy.
What is the best part of your job?
Seeing people happy with their body, having good health, believing that eating healthy (and small amounts of everything) can provide quality of life and good health, too. When people lose weight and feel happy, that makes me think I'm in the right place.
Everyone, even nutritionists, has a ‘guilty pleasure’ when it comes to food. What’s yours?
Chocolate and wine!
If you had just one piece of nutrition advice to give to someone, what would it be?
Go step by step, don't try to do everything on the same day or month, gradual changes are better than drastic changes. Give not just quantity but quality to your life, eat healthy, small amounts of everything, work out and use Herbalife products.
What is something that most people don’t know about you?
Well, my reality is that my family depends, as a lot of families, on my income, so I have to work hard. I have my private clinic where I see patients 3-4 days of the week, and I also have to be a mom in the afternoons and take kids to special activities. I have to work out too, to be an example to my patients, so I try to play tennis at least 4 times a week in the middle of my day so I won't sacrifice my kid’s time when they come home from school. At night I try to organize menus and snacks for everyone at home and have a nice dinner with my husband! A typical “super mom”!
When I travel with Herbalife I enjoy so much knowing new places, eating every country's typical dish and making new friends. It's my time to sleep, eat alone and read and watch movies. I see my work as vacation - haha!
